The Bad Plus tomorrow

They are a jazz trio for people that hate jazz trio’s. They play jazz like a metal band.

They are incredible live. Show starts at noon and should go 30-45 minutes. You can invite your friends but please meet them at reception. They have a show tomorrow night at the Crystal Ballroom, too.

W+K and WK Radio at SXSW

Since 1987, SXSW has produced the internationally recognized Music and Media Conference & Festival. We sent some W+K folks down there to represent. Throughout the week, DJ Safi will report back to WK Radio with news and an interview with Sub Pop’s, ‘Blitzen Trapper’. Also at SXSW, W+K Entertainment’s executive produced feature film, ‘Say My Name’ and Katie Turinski’s, ‘Sissyboys’ debut.

Today on the radio

Arthur Bradford, American short story author and a director. He was a contributor to the McSweeney’s publication The Future Dictionary of America, and also the director of How’s Your News?, a documentary wherein disabled adults interview unsuspecting passersby in a cross-country road trip. The film was broadcast on HBO, PBS, and British channel, Channel 4. It is now in production as a series for mtv.

‘Our City Dreams’, a film directed by Chiara Clemente, is a documentary love letter about five women artists and their interactions and devotion to the city they live–New York. The film marks the debut film score for Portland’s Thomas Lauderdale from Pink Martini.
