Brain Candy

A group of folks from Google came to WK and created a mini version of the famous Google Campus here in the atrium. During the morning, we checked out the applications and talked with the techs from Google on subjects ranging from map navigation to rich media. In the afternoon, we broke into account teams and brainstormed on how to make our wildest interactive dreams a reality.

A huge candy wall didn’t hurt to lure us out of our usual daily activities to fully enjoy the Googleness. There was also a drawing for some Bluetooth Jawbone headsets.

Renny talks to Ted

Ever go for a jog and talk to yourself. When Renny does, he says things like “societal/cultural implications/impact of mobility.” Renny Gleeson is the Director of Digital Strategies here at WK and recently spoke at the Ted Conference in Long Beach. Check out his clip on the topic mobile devices and the expectation of availability.

Our New Blog

The W+K blog began three years ago as a fun side project in the Studio. And it was great and we all loved it. But the WWW is a cruel place and our blog quickly grew into a giant ugly monster. So we killed it.

Today we launched our new blog. The URL is now:

Thanks to Rob Kendall, Tony Frusciante, Trent Johnson, Scrappers and Scott Kleiner for working hard to make this happen.

W+K 3G

This morning Apple released the iPhone 3G and about half the agency the entire agency blew off work to go get one.

We don’t mean to toot our iHorns, but we are one of the first agencies (if not the first) to have an iPhone application available today.

The Jobs application allows you to search for jobs in the vicinity of where you’re standing, or in other cities. While we collaborated with our client on some of the aspects of the development, we’re proud to say that all of the designs and a major portion of the development was done by W+K’s Creative Development team.

iCongratulations to everyone involved – it was one of those projects where everyone who itouched it had a significant impact on the final product. If you have an iPhone/iPod Touch, check it out.
