A group of folks from Google came to WK and created a mini version of the famous Google Campus here in the atrium. During the morning, we checked out the applications and talked with the techs from Google on subjects ranging from map navigation to rich media. In the afternoon, we broke into account teams and brainstormed on how to make our wildest interactive dreams a reality.
A huge candy wall didn’t hurt to lure us out of our usual daily activities to fully enjoy the Googleness. There was also a drawing for some Bluetooth Jawbone headsets.
W+K is this year’s “People’s Voice Winner” and “Webby Award Winner” for
‘Best Use of Animation or Motion Graphics’ for the Coraline website
developed for the Laika feature film.
The “Webby Award” is awarded by a 550-member body of leading Web experts,
business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities. The
“People’s Voice Winner” is chosen by the community-at-large through an open
ballot.
Ever go for a jog and talk to yourself. When Renny does, he says things like “societal/cultural implications/impact of mobility.” Renny Gleeson is the Director of Digital Strategies here at WK and recently spoke at the Ted Conference in Long Beach. The W+K blog began three years ago as a fun side project in the Studio. And it was great and we all loved it. But the WWW is a cruel place and our blog quickly grew into a giant ugly monster. So we killed it.
This morning Apple released the iPhone 3G and about half the agency the entire agency blew off work to go get one.
We don’t mean to toot our iHorns, but we are one of the first agencies (if not the first) to have an iPhone application available today.
The CareerBuilder.com Jobs application allows you to search for jobs in the vicinity of where you’re standing, or in other cities. While we collaborated with our client on some of the aspects of the development, we’re proud to say that all of the designs and a major portion of the development was done by W+K’s Creative Development team.
