W+K Cares sent two groups out into the community to volunteer in November. Our digital production team headed to the Children’s Book Bank while HR and Broadcast Production spent the afternoon at the Oregon Food Bank.
W+K Cares sent a second round of do-gooders out into the community last week. The Dodge/Chrysler, Old Spice, Target, Velveeta, Laika and Nike Golf Account Service teams spent an afternoon at The ReBuilding Center in North Portland. The ReBuilding Center, a project of Our United Villages, carries the region’s largest volume of used building and remodeling materials, and provides resources that make home repairs affordable to everyone with the goal of promoting the reuse of salvaged and reclaimed materials.
The group received fair warning that the day wouldn’t be easy and to count on working hard and getting dirty. Fortunately, W+K’s Willie Shearer says he loves nothing more than big tools. Check out his recap below.
W+K Portland’s new volunteer initiative W+K Cares will connect agency employees with the local Portland community. Charity team member Jessie Simmons of Account Services has shared her thoughts with us and described the first W+K outing: a trip to non-profit Zenger Farm. Check it out below.
