W+K recently teamed up with mobile technology leader and former PIE-company Urban Airship to help illustrate “Tales of Good Push.”
Push notifications are a transformative marketing channel and key engagement platform for developers, brands and agencies. As with any communications channel, there’s potential for both good and bad uses, and push is no exception.
For the project, six animated films were scripted in a fun, humorous tone with a unique set of colorful characters, to illustrate what “Good Push” is and how life can be better with the right message at the right time.

Push is crazy useful in everyday situations. Unfortunately, everyday situations can be kind of boring. Seeing someone get a haircut, or remember an umbrella so they don’t get wet isn’t that exciting, but we wanted to show how push is really useful for making these everyday moments easier, better, shorter, cheaper, friendlier and more convenient.

To interject excitement into the routine, we made the cast of characters fantastic.

Monsters need haircuts too, and a free haircut is an even better deal when you’re covered with hair from head to toe. And if you think you don’t like getting wet, imagine how important knowing to bring an umbrella is to a mummy. The last thing you want is for people to see you haven’t changed your underwear in 2,000 years.
The versatile need for the films to be used online, at conferences, in presentations, via mobile and even person-to-person sales meetings meant telling a simple, visual story.
