Dan Wieden Honored with Catalyst Award at 2011 Adcolor Awards

This week, our own Dan Wieden was honored with the Catalyst award at the 2011 Adcolor Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. Dan has always been committed to making the voice and people of advertising and specifically W+K more diverse. Our diversity and inclusion manager Porsha Monroe has shared some thoughts with us; check them out below.

“All too often, minority voices are underrepresented in our industry. Dan has always cared deeply about this issue, and for many years, has fought continuously to diversify the field of advertising. Our own agency is one where you’ll find a fusion of people from different cultures, races, and sexual orientations coming together to, in his words, make the best work of their lives.

The ADCOLOR Awards show is an annual event that recognizes diversity champions and agencies who work together to further diversity and inclusion efforts in the advertising, marketing and media industries.

This past weekend, among the likes of folks like Spike Lee, Steve Stoute and George Lopez, Dan was honored by the ADCOLOR Steering committee with an ADCOLOR Catalyst award; an award that recognizes those who work tirelessly to push the needle on diversity. Several W+K’ers came out to the ceremony in LA to support and it was a humbling experience for everyone involved.”
