Do you like the internet?

Do you like LOLcats? (Silly question, everyone likes LOLcats.)

Do you like intelligent discussion of memes and the potential of the internet?

ROFLCon Summit, a collaboration between W+K and ROFLCon, has all that and more, and you can now register to attend.

The event is on Saturday, October 1st in Portland, Oregon. It’s a spin-off of the wildly awesome biennial ROFLCon, and will “bring together the leading generators, preservers and advancers of online culture so they can talk about where it’s all headed and what it means to everyone else. It’s an open discussion about why the very same communities that are good at making dumb, funny things online are having a real impact on the world.”

Panelists are still being announced, and so far include Alexis Ohanian, Co-founder of Reddit and Breadpig; Ben Huh of the Cheezburger Network; and Sherrod Degrippo of encyclopediadramatica and OhInternet, along with representatives from BoingBoing, Internet Archive and the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

Visit the ROFLCon Summit page to buy your tickets. [Ed note: the site is currently undergoing maintenance and will be up on Tues, Sept 6]. Can’t attend? The event will be streamed live on the day, and you can follow the Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages for more info and ticket giveaways.
