Candle Light Vigil for Japan

If you’re in Portland, please come out to tonight’s candle light vigil for Japan PDX. It is being held downtown at Pioneer Square between 6-8pm.

The City of Portland has given permission to hold this vigil in Pioneer Square. You can RSVP on Facebook here and find out more on the official Vigil for Japan PDX site here. Please note, that there will likely not be enough candles for everyone, so please bring your own (wax-free, white candles are preferable). Donations for Japanese emergency relief organizations Peace Winds, and their US partner Mery Corps will also be accepted at the vigil.

If you are not in Portland, but would like to help out, there are a number of organizations collecting donations including W+K. Show your support by donating to The Friends of Japan: The W+K Family Fund (all proceeds will be given to The Red Cross of Japan) and by wearing this twibbon on your social avatars. Big thanks to all those that have contributed so far!

A candle light vigil for Japan is being held this Friday in downtown.

I am planning to go after work if anyone would like to join me.

Let me know if you’d like to join and maybe a group of us can walk over together.

The vigil will take place at Pioneer Square between 6pm-8pm.

The City of Portland has given permission to hold this vigil in Pioneer Square.

Due to the increasing number of attendees, they will not be able to supply enough candles for everyone, so please bring your own candles. (they are requesting wax-free white candles)

I will try to purchase extra as well.

They will also be accepting donations for Japanese emergency relief organization Peace Winds, and their US partner Mery Corps.

The site below has not been updated yet, but as of right now, the location is at the Square.
