Briana doesn’t think she looks like “Joan” from the TV show Mad Men. Who is she kidding? Not us.

Wieden + Kennedy completed a project in 2008 for an amazing outfit called FrontlineSMS.
FrontlineSMS built a free piece of software for NGO’s and grassroots organizations worldwide to communicate rapidly and effectively with geographically dispersed groups using basic text-messaging (SMS) technology that would withstand power outages and even natural disasters.
They needed a web presence and a logo. And both had to work on low speed connections and using only text characters (since many folks would interact with them only via text message).
W+K built both (http://www.frontlinesms.com), using interactive resources across the network. We got paid for our work. And we added some nice little twists to make it more useful for the constituencies using the product.
Thought you’d like to know that yes, while we also sell soda and sneaks better than anyone, we are partnering with folks who use innovative technologies to make peoples lives better.
See your logo on this boys button:

Prints for PICA
Take a slew of emerging, established, revered, and talked about artists from across the burgeoning city of Portland. Put them all together in a studio. Give them access to accomplished printers, free flowing ink, and lots of coffee, and watch them turn stacks of blank pages into coveted art. Ranging in price from $100-$250, prints are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. All proceeds to benefit PICA’s Artistic Programming.
The 6th Annual Prints for PICA event: A printmaking marathon and floor-to-ceiling studio art sale returns this December 13, 2008. Conceived by artist Stephen Hayes and hosted by TodayArt Studios, Prints for PICA gathers artists together in support of PICA’s artistic programming. Over 50 artists spend all day Saturday creating and printing with the sale opening that evening for the public.
