The folks from USA Today came by to tell us we are awesome. They presented us with some french fries and champagne. They threw in some Cannes Lions as well.
A silver for Coca-Cola in the film category.
Two silvers and a Bronze for Old Spice.
And a Bronze for Nike.
Time again for our annual W+K Pie Contest. This year had more entries than ever to everyone's benefit. But before we get started, please rise for National Anthem, lead by Chaucer Barnes.
The Master of Pie and host of the WK Pie Off, Mr. Danny Sheniak.
Unlike the BCS, we have a playoff of sorts from each category. A consortium of judges for each category view the presentation of each pie and of course sample each one. The winner of each category goes to the final table.
The final pies are for the taste buds of Dan to sample and determine the best pie in the house.
And the winner of the best pie this year, was a cake. Made by Kyle Pero and his girlfriend.
A huge win for the Retouching department. Kyle and his girlfriend have earned a trip to Seattle. And with that, it is time to release the hounds and let everyone in on the action.
Thanks everyone for another wonderful year of pie.
A big shout out to Mary Normand for really making all of this happen.

Not sure # 3 because I was so entrenched in listening to Thomas talking about his life in the South and eating mountains of Sweet Potato Pie.
Well not quite... There was a snowboard event held behind our building in front of the Art Institute over the weekend. A few WK peeps were in attendance. Here's a few pics:
If you haven't already, be sure to check out Adweek's 30 most influential people in advertising, marketing and media. Our very own Dan Wieden is among the elite, sandwiched between Arianna Huffington and Bob Greenberg . Congrats Dan!

The W+K blog began three years ago as a fun side project in the Studio. And it was great and we all loved it. But the WWW is a cruel place and our blog quickly grew into a giant ugly monster. So we killed it.
At 3:15 today our 6th floor dishwasher started smoking. LTA attempted to prevent a sure disaster by opening the smoking dishwasher and sacrificing his health and hand for our collective benefit.
The smoke alarms sent 350+ WK employees running for their lives. Everyone was OK. Thank You, LTA!
