At 83, the legendary former Bloomingdale’s chairman Marvin S. Traub still logs over 200,000 miles of travel a year in search for what is new and innovative. As is evident from reading his new book, “Like No Other Career: Marvin Traub” (Assouline), there is no one younger in spirit or more curious in the fashion business. Written in collaboration with the fashion business reporter Lisa Marsh, the 176-page tome is a lively and personal documentation of Traub’s career as a top retail consultant and investment banker since “retiring” from Bloomingdale’s in 1991. The book features messages, drawings and photographs from the fashion-world bon ton, including Yves Saint Laurent, Karl Lagerfeld, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Issey Miyake, Hubert de Givenchy, Giorgio Armani, Diane Von Furstenberg and Ralph Lauren.
