Renny Gleeson planted this 360 camera in the office on Tuesday with a little help from Immersive Media. It's the same type of camera Google StreetView uses, except it captures video. We'll let you know what Renny plans to do with hours and hours of 360 degree streaming video soon. We're sort of freaking out. Renny had that thing in the bathroom. Seriously. Emoticon wink.


I got a tip: The immersive media videos are distorted and mirrored. My colleage Quentin mapped those videos inside a sphere in flash. Looks way better, all info here:

Also, no need to install the quicktime plugin, works in Flash.

Immersive Media just launched a new viewer today. We’re now able to play our videos in Flash in a spherical format. We’ve been using spherical videos all along, but were waiting for the latest updates on the Flash program to make them accessible for everyone online without downloading our viewer. Your clips were impressive, and exactly the direction we were headed! Thanks for taking a look. We hope you keep checking back for more demos, and now you’ll be able to watch them spherically without all the work!
