Fab 5 Freddy and Charlie Ahearn spoke in front of the agency about their film "Wild Style". A film that commorates the movement of Hip-Hop and Gaffiti as well as life in New York City in the early 80's.

Charlie Ahearn directed the film Wild Style 25 years ago which was one of the first documentations into what was to be the birth of hip-hop style, culture, music and art. Fab 5 Freddy was featured in the film and among countless other things, was at the epicenter of the burgeoning graffiti and art movement of the time. Amongst the different points that Charlie and Freddy made was the diagnosis of the difference between himself, an unassuming Caucasian man, and Fred, a hip looking African American man. The point of this diagnosis is that although they are different on the surface, the rivers of creativity that they both embrace have helped them forge a friendship. It is Hip-Hop, a movement of creativity and spirit, that has helped them and millions of people globally find a common ground that has no boundaries.
These guys are having a screening of the film at the Clinton Street Theater tonight at 7pm (info below). A great opportunity to see this legendary film and ask questions to the filmmaker or to the host of Yo MTV Raps.

Above we have Art Directors Desmond Marzette and Jayanata Jenkins with Fab 5 Freddy and Charlie Ahearn. All of whom will be at the Tiger Bar, 317 Broadway, spinning records at 10pm. Come on down and break a sweat.
